The role of the Key Account Portfolio Director is to develop client relationships to the highest level across a portfolio of client accounts. In addition, the Key Account Portfolio Director will be responsible for orchestrating client-focused strategic, tactical and new business activities across Envision Pharma Group (EPG) in partnership with Client, Scientific and Technology key account leads. The successful candidate will work on a client account that has been selected specifically at this time based on its growth potential and the immediate need to coordinate delivery of service lines across EPG.
Act as the overall senior point of contact and business liaison for existing and account-expansion activities including, but not limited to:
o Client-relationship management
o Strategic business planning
o New business development
o Pan-EPG coordination of operations
o Compliance adherence
o Overall responsibility for contracting and pricing negotiations.
Maintain an astute understanding of the client portfolio, pipeline, strategic priorities and market position, reporting to management as required.
Internal Account Planning
Adopt the role of Industry and EPG Expert across all service lines (publications, strategic medical communications, multichannel deliverables, health economics/market access, and technology services).
Lead Group-wide ‘Smart Growth’ business initiatives to establish strategic direction for Key Account Plans (KAPs).
Set up and lead regular Key Account Team meetings – evaluate, understand and share best sales practice, work towards greater pan-EPG delivery, and share success stories internally and with client.
Leverage Envision Pharma initiatives known to be successful and profitable, and integrate new and improved approaches, to expand client relations, business offerings and financial profitability within each account.
Consolidate EPG responses for vendor assessments (RFI, RFP, etc.) and customer requests that will have an impact across the Group.
Manage selected overarching budget elements in collaboration with internal partners.
Provide strong oversight of budgets, forecasts and profitability.
Core Role Requirements
The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced, client-focused individual, who fully understands all aspects of the medical communications industry at a strategic level, with proven experience of establishing, building and maintaining exceptional client relationships. In addition, the successful candidate must have the knowledge and confidence to share all EPG service lines to develop new business opportunities.
Key skills and experience will include:
BA/BSc degree or higher
5+ years of experience working in a senior med comms client-facing, strategic/relationship/account management role
In-depth understanding of all EPG business offerings and how these can be leveraged to support clients’ communications activities
Proven ability to establish, build and maintain strong working relationships, both internally and externally
Consistently demonstrate a pro-active, solution-based approach
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, liaising with internal client team members and client representatives with ease.
